Phew, despite the colder weather last weekend, the GTN Bestsellers Plant Sales analysis shows a welcome second week of sales ahead of last year.
As we move into the peak sales weeks of May, plant sales are now 11% down on last year, much of which could be made up if the weather holds and there are sufficient stocks to meet demand.
- Zonal geraniums (Pelargoniums in our chart) lead the way, but sales last week were 12% down on the same week last year.
- Fuchsia sales were up by 7% on last year, climbing to No 3 in the chart, just behind Tomato plants.
- Primula’s saw a resurgence in sales climbing 21 places back to No 12.
