Phew, despite the colder weather last weekend, the GTN Bestsellers Plant Sales analysis shows a welcome second week of sales ahead of last year.
As we move into the peak sales weeks of May, plant sales are now 11% down on last year, much of which could be made up if the weather holds and there are sufficient stocks to meet demand.
Zonal geraniums (Pelargoniums in our chart) lead the way, but sales last week were 12% down on the same week last year.
Fuchsia sales were up by 7% on last year, climbing to No 3 in the chart, just behind Tomato plants.
Primula’s saw a resurgence in sales climbing 21 places back to No 12.
