Early poinsettia sales give centres a welcome boost

Proof that pointsettia sales are already starting to take off can be found in the popularity of associated products, according to the latest GTN Bestsellers data.

Fito, which lost its coveted No 1 spot with its Drip Feeder for Orchids last week, has bounced back with its Drip Feeder for Poinsettia and Christmas Cactus. It claims the highest climber accolade in the Garden Products chart, moving up 33 places to No 12.

The Scheurich Dark Red Pot is also proving to be a favourite with poinsettia growers, becoming the highest re-entry at No 25. This is positive news and proves there are plenty of opportunities for more associated sales over the coming weeks.

There is also evidence that gardeners are continuing with late-Autumn planting before the really bad weather arrives. Rootgrow Friendly Mycorrhizal Fungi has re-entered the chart after increasing its sales by 50% on the previous week.

And garden decor is still proving popular with two new entries from Vivid Arts. The Birdhouse Letter Box is the highest new entry at No 39 and the Mini Robin arrives at No 48.

At the top of the chart Gardman hold on to the top two places with Frostgard at No 1 followed by the Tap Cover at No 2, prompted by a recent dip in temperatures.
