Nursery Retail Sales Person (ref:DS7281)

Our Client is a wholesale nursery growing hardy nursery stock. We operate from two sites in south Hertfordshire employing approximately 35 full time staff. 

They supply a wide range of plants to the landscape industry. In addition to their own grown material they source and supply almost any plants required by their customers, from other growers both in the UK and mainland Europe. Approximately one third of the sales are to customers who visit the Drive-In (Cash and Carry) to select the plants they need. 

Ideally candidates should possess either retail experience with an interest in horticulture, or other horticulture experience.

No specific technical skills or qualifications are required, but basic plant knowledge and a passion for the industry are an advantage.

About the Job:

This position involves the day to day running of our cash and carry shop area, including serving customers and maintaining stock of sundry items, it involves:

-Obtaining and recording sales from customers
-Assisting in the day to day running and development of the shop area
-Promoting the company and its products
-Helping to achieve company aims and targets for the sales department
-Maximising sales and gross margin targets
-Maintaining a good knowledge of companies products and quote prices for products
-Managing the stock control within area of responsibility
-Supervising staff in area of responsibility
-Ensure health and safety responsibilities are fulfilled
-Accountable for the till and all monies
