The Young People in Horticulture Association has announced David Austin Roses as its final YPHA key partner for the 2023-2024 term, joining Floramedia, Boningale, ICL and the RHS at the forefront of advocating for young people in our industry.
YPHA treasurer, Lilidh Matthews, described the partnership as a ‘great honour’ for YPHA, stating that “David Austin Roses are one of the few horticultural brands that could claim to be a household name globally, with their rose breeding, growing and brand power having raised the bar for the rest of the industry.”
Andrew Henry, Growing and Fulfilment Director for David Austin Roses, added: “We are delighted to launch this partnership with YPHA. The next generation are the future of Horticulture in the UK. I am thrilled that we can help support an environment in which young people can be inspired with likeminded people to help develop and expand their skills, knowledge, confidence, and experience. We are very pleased to be a Key Partner supporting YPHA as they inspire young people to pursue careers in horticulture to bolster our industry and innovate for the future.”
Partnerships such as this are the backbone of YPHA, facilitating opportunities, education, and empowerment for a membership approaching 350, and helping to strengthen the prospects of our industry in the process. Along with YPHA’s five Key Partners, the successful applicants for ten ‘Supporter’ level positions are soon to be announced; these will be selected from an expressions of interest process which garnered significantly more applications than available positions.
