One good week in February doesn’t make the Spring a foregone conclusion but the sales performances indicated by GTN Bestsellers for the first half-term week of the year certainly show that when the opportunity is there customers are happy to get back into garden centres and spend money on plants and gardening big time.
All four charts show great growth with plants leading the way.
But the charts also indicate we might be missing out on some early season linked sales opportunities. Have you got all your hotspots stocked with the right products? And are your teams briefed to ask that all important question “is there anything else you need today?”
Serving customers well, early in the season, should be a top priority to make sure they tell others about their experience.
