The Gardenex export federation is returning to Japan again in 2014 where it will organise the British group participation at Gardex/Ifex/Extepo (15 to 17 October 2014), Japan’s largest international trade fair for the garden and outdoor living industry. The federation has secured an excellent location for the British pavilion in the main Gardex hall, and the three UK suppliers in the group will be receiving £2,000 grants secured by Gardenex from UK Trade & Investment to help offset the cost of exhibiting.
The three suppliers in the British group are:
Briers (GARDEX 12-33), who will be showing examples from its many garden clothing and accessories ranges including its Historic Royal Palace Product Collection, sales of which provide a contribution to support five of the most iconic palaces belonging to the Queen. The collection includes rubber clogs and boots, gloves, umbrellas and garden product collections. Briers has also teamed up with HemingwayDesign to create ranges of Wellington boots, gloves and raincoats. Also on show will be its kids’ range that includes boots, clogs, gloves and six different garden tools. New footwear, gloves and kneepads will also be on display.
Irrigatia (GARDEX 12-39) will be exhibiting its weather responsive solar automatic watering system that is ideal for small to medium gardens or allotments, and can be used for pots, raised beds, hanging baskets, vegetables and greenhouses. The kits use solar power to pump water and feed from water barrels without the necessity for wires, hose pipes or watering cans. The kits are easy to install and set up and will provide water automatically every three hours during the day and apply more water during sunny conditions.
Porous Pipe (GARDEX 12-35) will be showing its complete range of Porous Pipe soaker hose products made from recycled materials, including new Porous Pipe Tree Soaker Ring Kits and Micro Bore Patio Kits. The soaker hose system provides gentle and precise watering of garden beds and borders, while using up to 70 per cent less water than that used by other irrigation methods. It is ideal for nurturing young plants and trees. On display will be the latest point-of-sale merchandisers and new packaging. The company also offers own label and OEM items for minimum order quantities.
In addition, Gardenex will have a British garden information stand at the show (GARDEX 12-37). The federation has long and established experience of the Japan garden market and has organised the British pavilion at the show on many occasions in the past. The Gardenex comprehensive exhibition support package provides valuable support prior to the show, during the build-up and on-site specialised help and market information and advice after the event in order to help companies make the most of new business opportunities in the Japanese market. The federation also provides a free supplier and product sourcing service for international buyers.
Gardex/Ifex/Extepo attracts over 34,000 visitors from 50 countries in its three days; making it the perfect opportunity to introduce products to the Asian market and the only trade show in Japan which provides such a showcase. The Japanese garden and exterior markets are worth in excess of US$10 billion, and the industry is always seeking new and innovative quality products. Due to the high quality reputation of British products they are highly regarded in Japan.
The show attracts a broad spectrum of buyers; garden centres and garden shops, home centres, florists, landscaping companies, garden designers, department stores, mail order and internet companies, supermarkets, building companies and lifestyle shops plus leading importers, wholesalers and distributors for the various garden sectors.
