Allensmore Nurseries Scoop Peter Seabrook Best New Plant Award at BBC Gardener’s World Live

The award, named in honour of horticulture's super hero Peter Seabrook, in tribute to the years he devoted to promoting new plant varieties both to gardeners and within the horticultural trade, is one of the most prestigious awards in the plant sector. This years winning plant, which is being introduced to the UK market by Herefordshire based Allensmore Nurseries, Hydrangea macrophylla First Editions® Eclipse® has been selected as the top plant entered into the competition by the panel of expert judges.

The award was presented by Fran Barnes, the Chief Executive of the HTA and Roger Seabrook, son of the late Peter Seabrook, in front of an audience in a packed Let’s Talk Plants theatre at the garden show on Friday. There to receive their award were Alice Button the Trials Officer and Production Director Kevin Campbell both of Allensmore Nurseries.

Over 100 plants entered were judged by the panel and are now on show to the public at the event. Over 90,000 visitors to the show, are now being asked in the Visitors Vote for their choice of ‘top of the pots’. GTNXtra will bring you the result of that poll as soon as the votes are counted.
