Worfield Plants introduce new sales executive ahead of HTA show

Worfield Plants in Shropshire has extended its team with the appointment of Jamie Ablett to the role of Sales Executive in the South East. The appointment was made as a result of Worfield’s continued year on year growth in the retail market and its commitment to help customers maximise year-round plant sales.

With more than 14 years’ experience in direct sales, Jamie has a wealth of commercial experience in new business development and account management that is already benefitting Worfield Plants and its independent garden centres and retail customers.  Jamie’s background, working in marketing-led businesses, also brings fresh new-thinking to the company and how customers can reap increased sales opportunities.

Jamie, who studied Horticulture originally and has a passion for plants said: “I’m delighted to be working for Worfield Plants and to be able to use both my plant knowledge and my sales background to help customers across the South East.  I’m also excited to create new relationships and ensure prospects are aware of our exceptional quality range of alpines, perennials and grasses.”

Exhibiting at the HTA Show on the 19-20 June for the first time, Jamie added: “A key part of this service-led role is to give customers the ability to plan ahead and reserve plant stock for the upcoming season; provide information on impulse lines for hot spots and bed-end promotions; and to offer expert advice on how customers can maximise plant sales using our 12-month full-plant listing catalogue – I’m looking forward to meeting visitors attending HTA and giving them a first look at our new 2019 catalogue.”

For more than 50 years, Worfield Plants has been supplying an unrivalled range of high quality plants to independent garden centres and retail outlets from its nursery in Shropshire. The company supplies an extensive British grown range of Alpines, Ferns, Grasses, Heathers and Herbaceous plants; and every year aims to introduce 100 new plants to its retail listing.

As part of  the Boningale group, Worfield also works with an extensive  network of UK growers, to supply Barbara Austin, Bare rooted plants, Climbers, Ericaceous, Hedging, Herbs, Rootballed plants, Shrubs, Topiary, Trees and Wildflowers.
