Webbs triumph in dragon boat race

A team of oarsmen from Webbs garden centres at Wychbold and West Hagley rowed theit way to victory in a dragon boat race for charity.

The Pershore Phoenix Dragon Boat race and fun day was held to raise funds for Acorns Children’s Hospice, one of the garden centre’s chosen charities this year.

The Webbs win beat their previous event best – they came third last year.

Their captain, Mark Goddard, said the event was a great team builder event, good fun and helped the charity. “We held the fastest race time of one minute and eight seconds andwe look forward to defending our title next year,” he added.
