Newlyweds tip-toe through tulips...and start police hunt

Dutch police launched a social media campaign to track down a newly-wed couple who were posing for photographs in a field of blooming tulips at Voorhout last week-end.

The couple were photographed from a police helicopter and police wanted to hand the pictures over to the happy couple.

“Which bridal pair are by chance on the police helicopter picture?” their Twitter message read.. “Saturday 2/5 15.40 Voorhout. The pictures are yours.”

Reactions to the police campaign were generally been warm, although some people questioned why the police were taking aerial photographs of the bulb fields in the first place…

A couple of days lagter, the happy couple – a German man and Chinese woman – came forward and said the pictures had added to their special day.
