BBC GW Live picture special. Greenfingers garden celebrates 25 years and British Garden Centres steal the show for garden retailing

With one day to go, BBC Gardeners World Live has been a huge success for trade exhibitors and garden designers with British Garden Centres leading the way in terms of garden retailing at the NEC show and Greenfingers celebrating 25 years with an Anniversary Garden that has been a truly moving and memorable feature, celebrating 25 years of creating therapeutic gardens in children’s hospices across the UK.

The Greenfingers garden, designed by award-winning garden designer Pip Probert, has given the industries charity a wonderful platform to engage with the gardening public and share the impact of the amazing work we all help facilitate.

Greenfingers Charity Chairman, Boyd Douglas-Davies told GTN Xtra: “It has been a fantastic show, so far. Safe to say we have the most colourful garden in the show!

“We have had lots of lovely comments every single day and even more today following the great coverage on BBC Gardeners' World last night.”

Director of Fundraising & Communications, Linda Petrons, added: "It’s been such a joy to meet so many supporters, old and new, and to celebrate this milestone with them. We’re so thankful to everyone who has contributed, whether through sponsorship, time, or kind words. This garden has truly been a team effort and a beautiful reminder of what can be achieved when people come together for a meaningful cause.

“We are incredibly grateful to British Garden Centres, Miracle-Gro, and all our generous supporters who helped bring this garden to life. A special thank you goes to our amazing volunteers, whose enthusiasm and dedication over the past few days have been invaluable.”

In the floral marquee 100 “hot off the potting bench” new plant varieties were displayed to visitors, whetting their appetite for buying in 2026.

In the retailing halls, British Garden Centres stole the show for garden centre retailing, not only sponsoring the main stage with amazing visual merchandising displays but also providing the biggest show gardening shopping experience of the event.

See GTN Xtra’s photos from Press Day below, including the stars in the “hot off the potting bench” displays, the Greenfingers garden in build-up, garden related retail activity in the halls, a selection of display garden and floral marquee pics and more photos from the Greenfingers garden in action today.
