MP cuts ribbon for Worcestershire centre's new shop
West Worcestershire MP Harriett Baldwin joined a local garden centre based in Leigh Sinton in celebrating their growth over the last year.
Mrs Baldwin was asked to cut the ceremonial ribbon on the new shop area at Wykeham Gardens offering extra space for customers opened by Andy and Rachael Mahy.
She said: “It was good to see so many people shopping locally and showing their support for a great local business.”
Mrs Mahy added: “We are really excited about our new shop and it was lovely to see people browsing round.”
Wykeham Gardens, founded in 2012, is run by Andy Mahy (BSc Hort) and Rachael Nitz-Mahy (ANCH Garden Design) from their home on the Malvern Hills and the Plant Centre in Leigh Sinton.
Andy Mahy started his career many years ago after completing a degree in horticulture at Bath University. Rachael Nitz-Mahy moved into horticulture 10 years ago following a career as an aerialist with Exponential Aerial Theatre. She completed the Advanced National Certificate in Horticulture and in Garden Design. She is responsible for the garden design work, plant sales and propagation.
