Copywriter (Full time) – specialist communications business
Salary: £18,000-£20,000 per year

 A specialist communications business is looking for a full-time Creative Copywriter to work as part of their content team. This role will be focused on creative, updating and researching new written content around the topics of gardening and nature. The successful candidate may also work on ad-hoc projects as requested.

 

The role is based in a beautiful rural location near Alcester (B49), so having your own transport is a must. You will be part of a small creative team who love to laugh and are dedicated to creating fun, useful and engaging content. The company works on high-profile events and with leading organisations in the gardening industry, so this is a fantastic opportunity to gain industry experience.

 

Key deliverables:

  • Curating and updating, where requested, existing written content
  • Proofreading and/or sub-editing content
  • Researching, writing and editing specialist gardening content to spec
  • Sourcing relevant images to accompany content
  • Compiling visual assets to accompany content
  • Uploading content into templates in WordPress
  • Ensure compliance with the law (e.g., copyright and data protection)

Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate for this role will be an enthusiastic individual who is eager to learn and be an asset to the team in any way they can. Your eagle-eye will mean you have high attention to detail, so you’ll have spotted the intentional typo in the previous sentence. A proactive approach and can-do attitude are important, and you will be someone who draws satisfaction from organisation and producing high-quality work. Qualifications:

  • Have excellent writing and grammar skills – samples of your work may be requested
  • Have excellent admin and timekeeping skills
  • Able to create fun, interesting, user-friendly and blog articles
  • Able to work well as an individual and as part of a team
  • Comfortable working to tight deadlines and in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to problem solve and adapt approach to business need
  • Experience:
  • It is desirable for the successful candidate to have experience of writing blogs/content.
  • It is desirable for the successful candidate to have experience with Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator or Adobe InDesign
  • It is desirable for the successful candidate to have experience in software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel & PowerPoint), WordPress, Outlook & CRM / Email marketing systems.
  • An interest or previous experience in horticulture would be advantageous.
