Successful Open Day launches sustainability brochure

The Bransford Webbs Plant Company welcomed over 100 customers to their Worcestershire site this week, for their ‘Plant Retailing: A Sustainable Future’ day, in conjunction with New Leaf Plants.

The day saw attendees visit the nursery for a guided tour, talks by Simon Blackhurst on the ‘Transition Away from Peat’, Karl O’Neill on ‘Integrated Crop Management’ and New Leaf Plants on ‘Preparing Climbers for the Season Ahead’, and a mini trolley fair.

During the event Bransford Webbs also promoted their sustainable practices. To bring together these practices in one place, an online publication has been launched – ‘Sustainable Growing at The Bransford Webbs Plant Company’. This can be downloaded from their newly refreshed website, www.bransfordwebbs.co.uk and will be emailed out to current customers over the next few days.

Through the trade zone of the website customers can also access up to date availability lists, the webshop and an online image library.

The sustainability booklet will only be available as a digital copy, making it sustainable, outlining six main areas – Growing Media, Biological Control, Energy, Water, Recycle & Reuse and Our Team.

“The success of these open days highlights the desire from our customers to learn more about the sustainable measures we are taking to grow the plants that we supply,” commented Adrian Marskell, Managing Director. “This is something that affects us all and shows the importance of working together.”
