Thieves use recovery truck in broad daylight car theft at garden centre
Thieves used a recovery truck to steal an employee’s car in broad daylight from Wentworth Garden Centre’s car park at Rotherham last week.
The white VW Golf GTI Clubsport Edition 40 was James Hudson’s pride and joy. Mr Hudson speculated that the car may have been ‘stolen to order’.
He said: “I work at the garden centre – it isn’t just a customer’s car. They have clearly been checking my car out and it has probably been stolen to order and they clearly knew it was there.
“This car is my pride and joy and I am devastated, as you can imagine.”
The registration number is YR17PDZ. Footage from CCTV cameras in the garden centre’s car park showed that the recovery truck’s registration plate was FX10XCK.
