Scheurich in deal to take over Deroma terracotta pottery

Deroma, the world‘s leader in terracotta pottery located in the North of Italy, will be taken over most probably before the end of 2018 by a cooperation between two German companies, the Bavaria Industries Group AG (Baikap) and the Scheurich GmbH & Co KG.

Baikap, located in Munich, is a family run holding exclusively focused on investments in middle sized enterprises. Scheurich, likewise a family run business going back to 1928, is the European market leader for indoor plant containers, and active since 2012 with plastic outdoor containers.

Following a major restructuring program Deroma who have 400 employees globally are showing solid growth and have achieved a turnover of 70 million euros. They have subsiduaries in France, Spain and North America, sales offices in Great Britain and Hong-Kong. After the transfer Deroma will be managed independently with their own management team. The head office remains in Malo and all employees will be kept on.

Peter Baumann, Scheurich’s owner: “Deroma as the market leader in the outdoor market and Scheurich as the leader in the indoor market complement one another perfectly and will use synergies particularily in the development of international markets that benefit their customers.”
