New Finance Director joins the AMES Companies

As the AMES Companies continues on its upward projection, firmly on its mission to being the garden retail industry’s ‘partner of choice’, it has recently appointed a new Finance Director to support this growth.

 

With two decades of experience under his belt, including manufacturing, distribution and FMCG sectors, John Thompson is the perfect fit to lead the next chapter at AMES, with the financial landscape firmly in his sights. In this new role, John will be responsible for all aspects of accounting and payroll, plus financial planning, reporting and analysis.  Additionally, with significant investments already underway across the business including new warehousing and ERP systems, John will be working as part of the wider leadership team to ensure that every aspect of these investments offer real tangible value for not just its customers but also the internal teams.    

 

John said of his appointment: “I have been greatly impressed by the vision for the AMES Companies and the steps that have already been taken to achieve this. What’s more, the people and the culture make this a superb place to work, and I am keen to make an impact in this new role. With ambitious growth plans comes the need to make the right decisions in both the short term and the long term, and it is here that the finance team and I come into play. It’s an exciting prospect to be part of this story and look forward to seeing many of our plans for the future come to fruition.”
