The heavy rain of the past two weeks really hit plant sales, according to GTN Bestsellers Epos Data analysis.  During the week ending 16th June total plant sales volumes were down 36% on the same week last year and dropped to the lowest level for the second week of June over the past four years.

Year to date plant sales volumes are now 5% down on last year but 1% up on 2017.

It wasn't just plants that suffered last week.  Total Garden Centre volume sales, as measured by the GTN Bestsellers All Products index dropped by 17% from the first week of June and were 20% down on the same week last year.  Year to date, overall garden centre sales are still managing to stay up year on year, by 2% on 2018 and statci with 2017.
