Flymo stays true to its promise after 60 years

Flymo has released two new adverts that convey how quick, simple and surprisingly satisfying gardening can be.

The campaign is the latest instalment in Flymo’s multi-million pound Easi Does It campaign, which brings to life the simplicity and convenience of its cordless range.

One advert captures a weightlifter interrupting his patio workout to tackle a persistent weed using the EasiWeeder before returning to his reps; the other shows a dog walker clearing her pathway in seconds with her EasiBlow Vac.

Love Actually’s Bill Nighy, Peter Sallis from Wallace & Gromit and Coronation Street’s Ken Morley are among a host of stars to appear in Flymo’s famous adverts over the past 60 years.

Peter, who voiced Wallace, promoted the E-Minimo to tackle “handkerchief lawns” while startled Ken, who played legendary Reg Holdsworth in Corrie, used his mower to quickly cut the lawn as his wife arrived home in the 1986 advert.

Julie Blades, Global Product Manager at Flymo, said: “We had incredibly innovative products, but never chose to talk about the science in the adverts.

“Instead, it was about how our innovation led to ease and speed. We know most Flymo customers do not enjoy cutting the grass.

“It is something they want done quickly so they can get on with enjoying their garden.”

Developed in partnership with McCann Advertising, Total Media, and Democracy PR, the Easi Does It campaign is running across social media, YouTube and in-store to celebrate Flymo’s 60th birthday.

Sarah Bentham, UK Marketing Manager at Flymo, said: “We have always believed Flymo works best when you do not overcomplicate it.

“These new fun and fast adverts continue that tradition to target time-pressed households with no-fuss products that help them spend less time doing chores and more time enjoying their gardens.
