Webbs take over at Millets Farm

Webbs have completed the acquisition of Millets Farm garden centre from Frosts with the centre opening today at 9:00am under new ownership.

Webbs announced their new centre on facebook saying: "Exciting news. Webbs are very pleased to announce that we are the new owners of the garden centre at Millets Farm, Oxfordshire. Located in the heart of the Cotswolds, it is a fantastic addition to our award winning centres based in Wychbold, West Hagley and Cheltenham. We look forward to welcoming you in-store soon."

James Frost has said on theFrosts website: "Over 35 years after opening this lovely garden centre with the Carter family, it is with considerable sadness that we are now announcing that we will be selling Frosts at Millets on the 18th July. Although Frosts are saying goodbye, we are happy to be handing over ownership to the Webbs family, who have been in horticulture since the 1800s and share our values.

"It has been a difficult decision for Jeremy and I, but we have no doubt that Webbs will ensure that the garden centre at Millets Farm continues to prosper as a key part of the local community.

"Frosts will continue with two centres at Woburn Sands and Willington, and our online store.

"We wish Mark our Centre Manager, his team and Webbs all the very best for the future, and thank you all for your support in the past."

As we publish this update of GTN Xtra there is now news about the potential purchase of the Brampton centre by Notcutts.  Watch this space.
