Year-on-year growth in the GTN Bestsellers charts is hard to come by at the moment. The big question now is: Will the weather warm up for the Bank Holiday week-end?

As the deadline approaches for this week’s GTN Xtra, the outlook is unsettled with sunny periods but without the northerly winds that have plagued many areas this week.

Perhaps a cooler but sunny bank holiday will be good enough to encourage garden centre visits and more pottering in the garden. For this year’s sales performance to better last year’s, both bank holidays in May really need to be good to put a shine on the figures. The overall year-to-date movement is currently 6.4% down on 2014
