Planters search for new Garden Centre General Manager
|
After 14 successful years Planters Garden Centre manager Stuart Gooden is looking to take it slightly easier and moving to the South West. Owners Gerald and Christine Ingram (pictured) have now started the search for his replacement.
During Stuart's time as centre manager, Planters (Tamworth) have doubled turnover to £5m, invested over £3m in the 20 acre site including £1.6m in a state of the art restaurant, created a tourist attraction with “SkyTrail” and built a pet centre (including dog grooming) to just short of 10% of turnover as are Christmas decoration sales.
Regular members of the GCA Centres of Excellence list and in the last 5 years been Garden Centre of the Year.
The search begins to find a new General Manager, hungry for success and ready to contribute to a 10 year plan, which will put Planters (Tamworth) into the top 10 centres for turnover (and profitability) in the UK.
Planters are looking for someone who wants to build their career, not looking to slow down. The ideal candidate will have worked in a large £5m+ destination centre and have a proven track record of building sales (and profitability).
Potential applicants can arrange an informal walk around with Gerald on 07790 859822 or apply in writing with a CV to: Gerald and Christine Ingram, Planters Garden Centre, Woodlands Farm, Freasley, Tamworth, B78 2EY or by email to gerald@plantersgc.com
