GIMA takes Buyer Connect international with BOL marketplace debut

Following the integration of Gardenex into the GIMA portfolio, the association has confirmed its first international Buyer Connect event, in partnership with leading European marketplace BOL.

Taking place on Tuesday 19th May 2026, the virtual event will connect selected suppliers with BOL’s buying team through a series of structured one-to-one meetings, designed to explore product suitability, identify innovation and unlock new routes to market across mainland Europe.

The event marks a natural progression for the Buyer Connect programme, which has already demonstrated strong success within the UK by facilitating direct, commercially focused conversations between suppliers and major retailers. This new international edition extends that opportunity further, supporting brands looking to diversify and scale beyond the domestic market.

BOL represents a significant opportunity for businesses targeting growth in Europe. As one of the leading online marketplaces in the Netherlands and Belgium, it provides access to millions of active customers, alongside a fully integrated platform that supports sellers with marketing tools, fulfilment options and logistics infrastructure.

Alongside the one-to-one meetings, participating suppliers will gain valuable insight into what is required to succeed on the platform, including operational expectations, customer experience standards and key considerations when trading within EU markets.

The event is open to both GIMA members and non-members, with each successful applicant receiving a dedicated 25-minute meeting with the BOL team (maximum of two attendees per company).

Key details:

  • Date: Tuesday 19th May 2026
  • Format: Virtual one-to-one meetings
  • Cost: £100 + VAT (members) | £200 + VAT (non-members)
  • Application deadline: Friday 17th April 2026
  • Places are limited and all meetings are subject to buyer approval.
