This year’s National Children’s Gardening Week, which promotes gardening and encourages garden centres across the UK to hold events, takes place lin May (23rd-31st ).
The aim of NCGW is to get as many schools, children and their families involved, gardening and having fun in their gardens. Pippa Greenwood, the HTA’s horticultural manager, has devised a host of ideas for fun activities.
The event’s popular school gardening competition saw more than 300 schools get involved last year. For 2020, Pippa’s theme will be ‘Grass Caterpillars’, which will give children the opportunity to reuse old tights and socks and get creative!
The HTA will help support garden centres with ideas and inspiration, plus easy- to-use social media content.
