Baytree say a fond farewell to plantarea manager Tim

The Baytree family, led by Reinhard Biehler, said a fond farewell to plantarea manager Tim Wayman, who retired last month.

Tim joined Baytree 32 years ago after completing his apprenticeship at Hilliers.

“Reinhard said I could have a three month trial when I started,” said Tim. “You know, he never did come back to me to tell me I’d passed the trial.”

The Biehler family, the Baytree staff and many suppliers turned out to wish Tim a happy retirement.

He was presented with a gold watch and a 30-year-old Antarctic birch tree. Tim will spending some of his retirement tending his own arboretum, where he plans to create a National Collection of hollies.
