The 75th AIPH Annual Congress, a milestone event for the organisation, will be held in Suncheon, Republic of Korea, on 17-21 September 2023.
Established in 1948, the International Association of Horticultural Producers (AIPH) has been supporting the horticultural industry for 75 years. Currently, AIPH represents 41 full members and 38 affiliate members around the globe.
The 75th Annual Congress will take place alongside the 2023 Suncheonman International Garden Expo. With the theme ‘We Live In The Garden’, the Expo aims to connect the National Garden to the City Centre, bringing its citizens closer to nature. Delegates of the Congress will be taken on a VIP tour of the Expo site.
Included in the Congress schedule is the Horticultural Industry Conference, which will cover four subjects: ornamental horticulture in the Republic of Korea, environmental footprinting, sustainable growing media, and sustainability. - Mr. Heo Changgak of the Korea Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs, RoK
- Mr. Lim Yuktaek, President of KFA (Korea Florist Association) and KOFLAS Korea Federation of Flower-Related Associations), RoK
- Mr. Song Junho, Chief of Agriculture Cooperation Youngho, RoK
- Mr. Albert Haasnoot of Royal FloraHolland, the Netherlands
- Mr. Edmund Timm of MPS, the Netherlands
- Mr. Martin Brijs of Palmstead Nurseries and HTA, UK
The Congress will also feature the AIPH International Expo Conference where organisers of AIPH approved events will present their progress reports. Delegates will receive updates from two A1 category World Horticultural Exhibitions: Expo 2023 Doha Qatar and The World Horticultural Exhibition Yokohama 2027 (Japan). There will be also be progress reports concerning AIPH approved B category International Horticultural Exhibitions and C category International Horticultural Shows.
A Green City Conference and insightful tours of key green city locations in Suncheon are planned for the 20th September – more details will be confirmed in the coming weeks. Finally, the Congress concludes with visits in the local area.
