The heat goes out of growing media sales
The heat has certainly dropped out of growing media sales this month. After record sales in April, the GTN Bestsellers Top 50 volume index is currently running at 15% down on May 2016.
The effect of Chelsea and warmer weather will now be the deciding factor to see if we go into June with an overall positive on growing media sales or not.
The highlights this week were:
- Scotts Levington Multipurpose + John Innes (56 litres) stayed on top of the chart.
- Bord na Mona Vital Earth Organic Garden Compost (50 litres) was the highest climber, moving up 28 places to No 10.
- Westland The Gardener’s Multipurpose Compost (50 litres) was the highest re-entry at No 16.
- Another returning product is Scotts Levington Organic Blend Topsoil at No 26.
