Blackbirds take up residence at Kershaws
A family of blackbirds has taken up residence in an unusual spot at Kershaws Garden Centre, in Brighouse. The family of blackbirds has made a nest behind a plant pot in a bookcase at the entrance to the shop, and have hatched several of the eggs, and can be seen feeding them on a regular basis. Manager Liz Kenny said: “We have had many birds nesting in and around the plants, this is the first time that the eggs have hatched, especially in a noisy place where doors are opening and closing." Kershaws is celebrating 150 years this year, with a party on the weekend of August 2-3 with many special offers, party games, stalls and donkey rides. The barden centre will be raising money for Overgate Hospice.
