Suttons brings a fragrant twist to spring planting with a new collection of beautifully scented daffodils, ready to be planted this autumn for a colourful spring display.
The collection includes three fragrant daffodil varieties – Daffodil ‘Ice Baby’, Daffodil ‘Bridal Crown’ and Daffodil ‘Most Scented Mix’ – offering gardeners the chance to add both colour and fragrance to their spring displays.
Daffodils (Narcissus) are one of the most recognisable signs that spring has arrived, but many gardeners may not realise that some varieties are beautifully scented too. Their delicate to richly sweet perfume adds an extra sensory dimension to the garden, making them ideal for planting near paths, patios, doorways and seating areas where their fragrance can be enjoyed.
Rob Smith, Product Development Manager at Suttons, said: “Fragrant daffodils bring something extra special to the garden. After a long winter, there’s nothing better than seeing those first cheerful flowers appear, and when they smell beautiful too, it’s a real treat.
“‘Ice Baby’ is wonderfully fresh and delicate, while ‘Bridal Crown’ has gorgeous, full blooms and a lovely perfume. The ‘Most Scented Mix’ is great if you want plenty of variety and fragrance throughout your garden in spring. I’d plant them near a path, doorway, or seating area, where you can properly enjoy their scent, and if you can’t decide where to put them, try planting them in pots that you can move around the garden to make the most of their scent!
“They’re easy to grow, return year after year and provide that much-needed lift at the beginning of the gardening season after a long winter. In my opinion, every garden should have a few fragrant daffodils.”
