British Garden Centres welcomes new buyers to plant team

British Garden Centres has announced changes within its plant buying team. This move aims to drive forward the company's plant offering across its 65 stores and cater to the evolving needs and preferences of customers' gardens.

Mandy Warry and Phoebe Cater both have an extensive background in buying. They will play a pivotal role in nurturing existing partnerships and forging new ones, ensuring that British Garden Centres continues to provide exceptional

outdoor and indoor plants in all its centres across the country.

Mandy joins the team from Langlands Garden Centres, which was acquired by the British Garden Centres group in the summer of 2024. Mandy has fantastic horticultural experience and will become a valuable asset to the team.

Phoebe comes to the plant buying team with extensive experience, having worked at Cherry Lane Garden Centres / QD Stores, where she held various positions and managed multiple categories in plant buying. Her wealth of knowledge and expertise will be a valuable asset to the group.

Tom Cook has left the British Garden Centres family after five years, having previously worked as Horticultural Manager at the Hillview Group for 11 years before it was acquired by the Stubbs.  During his time at British Garden Centres, Tom played a pivotal role in driving the plant-buying strategy, sourcing and selecting the highest-quality plants for their stores.

Scott McCabe, Group Buying Director at British Garden Centres, said: “We’re excited to welcome Mandy and Phoebe to our plant buying team. Their extensive experience and passion for horticulture will undoubtedly strengthen our plant offering and help us continue to deliver exceptional quality to our customers. At the same time, we want to thank Tom Cook for his significant contributions to British Garden Centres over the past five years. His expertise and dedication have been invaluable, and we wish him all the best in his future endeavours.”

The British Garden Centres plant team is now headed up by Scott and led by Julian Palphramand with support from Andy, Mandy and Phoebe.
