The South West Growers Show will take place on Wednesday 1 October at The Matford Centre in Exeter, Devon, the organisers have confirmed.
Now in its 41st year (and the sixth since local growers reassumed control), the show is aimed at growers and plant buyers, from garden centres and retail outlets to local authorities and the landscaping industry. It brings together key growers and suppliers of specialist horticultural equipment and services.
The show’s chairman, David Jackson, says the show has gone from strength to strength since it was bought back from its previous owners, The Haymarket Media Group, in 2009. ”We have seen a steady increase in both visitors and exhibitors and look forward to building on this in October,” he said.
There would be new attractions this year, as well as the core focus on providing an excellent trading platform for growers. Approaching 70 exhibitors have already booked. Admission is free.
The show committee comprises: David Jackson (chairman. from Jackson & Son; Andrew Spilsbury (Whetman Pinks); Mark Taylor, (Kernock Park Plants); Adam Powell (Talaton Plants), Les Lane (XL Horticulture; Samantha Wallis and Bill Finch (WeeTree Wholesale Nurseries) and Peter Rider of Rainbow Plants.
