Too wet for growing – 12% up needed for next three months
With most gardens still too wet for gardening, sales of growing media continued at February levels rather than the normal for the end of March.
It will now take growing media Top 50 sales to average 12% up on last year for April, May and June, to make up the current level of shortfall.
With the right weather and some great promotions that could still be on the cards. The next few weeks will be an all important indicator.
Highlights this week were:
- Westland J. Arthur Bowers Multipurpose Compost, 50 litres, moved up six places to No 1 spot.
- Scotts Levington Essential Top Soil was the highest chart climber, moving up 24 places to No 8.
- Kelkay RHS Horticultural Alpine Grit Handy Bag was a new entry at No 50.
