Rowena re-opens with floral flourish

Rowena Garden Centre, near Leicester, re-opened yesterday, back in the hands of the family who started the Rowena business over 30 years ago.

Led by Roger Mackay, three generations of the family were on hand to welcome customers back to the site after a six-week re-generation following the closure by Dobbies.

The re-opening marks the start of a new chapter for Rowena after having to move locations due to the dualling of the A6 and changes in ownership through Gardenstore (Malcolm Parkinson), the family again, Wyevale and latterly Dobbies.

Once again suppliers have pulled out all the stops to help get the centre set up for spring trading, in Rowena’s case with the added dimension of products and ranges making the most of their APAC heritage.

At the opening yesterday the team from Corby + Fellas were on hand to ensure smooth sign ups of the Rowena loyalty app, with plenty of happy customers taking trollies full of plants and products through the tills.
