A report on ModernFarmer.com, a US-based website, says Amazon has patented a 'garden service' for grow-your-own consumers.
Users would be able to to upload pictures of their veg plots and then receive advice and product recommendations.
It would use image recognition and algorithms to make recommendations for plants to grow, how to grow existing plants and what to cook with them. A hypothetical ‘case study’ tells how it could help someone moving to an unfamiliar area and didn't know what would grow there.
From uploaded images, the service would be able to recognise challenges like a tree shading part of the garden, for example, and then recommend suitable plants, which Amazon could supply

The service could generate a virtual garden showing how a garden would develop across seasons and over time.
