Seaweed fertiliser enables expansion into the UK for Irish Company

Established as one of Ireland’s foremost suppliers of seaweed fertiliser, The Fast Grow Fertiliser company are now looking to develop their market by expanding into the UK.

Since the formation of the company by Shane Walsh in 2015, the Fast Grow name has developed rapidly in Ireland with over 30 per cent of Irish garden retailers now stocking the brand. Thanks to increased production capacity they are now entering the UK garden retail market with 2 products, Fast Grow Seaweed fertiliser and Fast Grow chicken manure.

Commenting on the UK market Shane Walsh told GTN Xtra: “Our products have been available in the UK for a while and have principally been used by veg growing enthusiasts. As a result of very positive results from gardening trials we now feel ready to offer this product into the garden retail market in the UK.”

To assist with his UK strategy, Fast Grow have hired the services of business consultant, Neville Stein, who is well recognised for his ability to develop markets. Stein, who accompanied Walsh on his first sales visit to the UK in August says; “we had a fantastic response on our initial sales visit picking up over 30 quality customers. It seems there is a growing interest and demand for seaweed fertiliser and so I am confident that Fast Grow will become a key item stocked by many garden centres.”

To assist develop the market in selected regions Walsh has also commissioned sales agent Bob Haward to represent the company in the eastern region of the UK.

Walsh, who has an ambition to achieve 250 stockists throughout the UK will be further developing the range of products available under the Fast Grow brand saying, “my garden centre customers in Ireland are getting many repeat sales from gardeners who have had great results from using the fertiliser so we are looking at new blends in order to provide gardeners with a range of great fertilisers.”
