It's set fair for a record-breaking March

With Mother's Day moving from the start to the end of March this year it was no surprise to see total sales drop year on year last week. But gardening product and plant sales still increased according to GTN Bestsellers.

That all bodes well for a potentially record breaking March with Garden Re-Leaf Day in a week’s time and the weather forecast for the rest of the month making particularly
good reading.

As this issue of GTN Bestsellers went to press the met office website was forecasting:
“Into the weekend and following week, many places will have dry, bright periods.”

For the weekends of Garden Re-Leaf Day and Mothers Day “there are signs for generally drier than average conditions and more settled weather than normal across the country… temperatures generally look to be around average for the time of year.”

GTN Bestsellers Top 50 sales volumes compared to the same week last year...
  • Garden Products - up 10%
  • Veg-2-Gro - up 1%
  • Growing Media - up 11%
  • All Items Index - down 17%
