ABOUT

tessa parikian garden design is based in leafy South London.

The company ethos is Resilient Gardens. I am passionate about supporting nature in an increasingly unpredictable climate and urbanised world. I can create a low maintenance, beautiful garden for you that can also benefit wildlife and your garden ecology. A garden that will be resilient to the vagaries of our changing climate.

Did you know household gardens in the UK cover an area one quarter the size of Wales? Those of us who aspire to design new and redesign existing gardens are guardians of the land and have a responsibility to take great care in how we manage this precious resource. Done with sensitivity and a gentle hand we can enhance the natural landscape and encourage wildlife to flourish, creating spaces that allow people to connect and respond to the natural world whether they want a place to relax with friends enjoying a drink and food cooked on the barbecue, somewhere where children can play safely or a night-time oasis.

A pre-registered member of the Society of Garden Designers and Silver medalist at BBC Gardeners’ World Live 2019 with her Beautiful Border – A Resilient Garden in a Changing Climate – tessa parikian garden design can help you make the right choices for your outdoor space.

We are delighted with our new garden. Tessa looked at what we had and came up with a design that kept the best of the old garden and combined that with lovely varied fresh plantings that included shrubs and perennials. She took note of the sorts of plants and colours that we like and carefully considered what would grow well.

Despite freezing and boiling temperatures in the year that followed the installation, the garden looked great all year and we expect it to get better.
We highly recommend her work.

As an aspiring but failed gardener I had been wondering for a number of years how, when and what to plant in the borders of my garden. I wanted it to be low maintenance, to have some colour and look great.

Tessa was able to take this sparse brief, understand what I needed and come up with a design to transform my drab unplanted borders into something that looks great. The process was entirely painless, all I had to do was supply a key to my side gate and some light refreshments and Tessa did the rest. I now marvel at my gardening skills, mainly the decision to go with with Tessa!
