RocketGro products now certified by Vegan Society

Peat-free growing media producer, RocketGro is extremely proud to announce that two of its best-selling products have been verified by the Vegan Society.

It means that both its flagship Magic Mulch product and Plant Fuel collection of liquid concentrate plant feeds are now certified as vegan and can carry the recognised Vegan Society trademark.

The move means that these products are now clearly identifiable for consumers actively seeking genuine vegan products, who know they can rely on the trusted trademark. Products are also listed on the Vegan Society website, giving weight to the RocketGro ranges.

It’s an exciting milestone for the British brand, whose products are all 100% peat free, Soil Association-approved organic, chemical free and produced sustainably in the UK. Magic Mulch and Plant Fuel are made from composted-down crops that are a by-product from the biogas plant on RocketGro’s farm in Somerset, which is responsible for powering thousands of homes in the local area.

The Vegan Trademark is an internationally recognised vegan product certification, established in 1990 by The Vegan Society – the charity that first coined the phrase ‘vegan’. Its aim is to help make vegan products more accessible, with the trademark now used on more than 65,000 certified vegan products across the world. To achieve certification, products undergo a thorough assessment to ensure their vegan claim is valid and authentic.

RocketGro will now begin the process of getting the rest of its range, which is already listed as Vegan Friendly, fully certified by the Vegan Society and authorised to use the widely-recognised trademark logo.

Commenting on the accreditation, RocketGro Managing Director Toby Thomas said: “We are very pleased to be working with the Vegan Society to be able to ensure the message is clear about the Vegan certified status of our product range. We have started with two products, but the plan is to have the majority of our full range officially accredited.

“We know that our entire current range is vegan friendly and believe this is a great addition to the suite of environmental, sustainable, and eco benefits that RocketGro’s products offer our customers. They are great for the garden and great for the environment!”

Just last year, the famous River Cottage brought RocketGro on board as its exclusive compost supplier, praising the Somerset manufacturer’s products for their performance and local, sustainable production.

Earlier this month it was also revealed that RocketGro – exclusive compost supplier to the renowned River Cottage – has been shortlisted for the Environmental & Sustainability Award at the Somerset Business Awards 2024, marking another proud achievement for this fast-growing, eco-focused business. Results will be announced at the awards event in March.
