£2,500 award on offer in horticultural research scholarship

A new Horticultural Research Scholarship has been launched by the David Colegrave Foundation (DCF) to support applied research in the horticulture industry.

Applications are invited from students of horticulture, including undergraduates, postgraduates and those studying for doctoral degrees, who are keen to pursue a research career. The successful applicant will receive £2,500 to fund their study.

DCF Chairman Jeff Colegrave says the new scholarship is a unique opportunity to explore a fascinating area of horticulture. “It provides a wonderful platform for research into the field of horticulture be that genetics, genomics and breeding, biotechnology, biochemistry, physiology, cellular and molecular biology, evolution, or environmental biology of horticultural plants,” he said.

Scholarship Season runs until 31 January 2019. Applicants need to complete an application form, which they can do online. They will be asked to describe their area of research interest and which research jobs would be of most interest to them.
