The warm Autumn weather prompted a drop off in Christmas sales last week.
Our Top 50 volumes fell by 4.6% to a level that was 21% down on the same week last year when the weather was considerably colder. Despite the sunshine two Christmas confectionery lines saw considerable increases in the Top 10.
Highlights were:
- Lindt’s Teddy Bear, 10g, jumped three places to No 3.
- Albert Premier Chocolate Gold Coins In Nets, 75g, moved up one to No 6.
- Premier Decorations Acrylic Wine Glass Tree Decoration in Silver was the highest re-entry of the week, back in at No 13.
- The highest climber was Konstsmide Water Filled Dickensia Lantern, which moved up 26 places to No 17.
