The warm Autumn weather prompted a drop off in Christmas sales last week.
Our Top 50 volumes fell by 4.6% to a level that was 21% down on the same week last year when the weather was considerably colder. Despite the sunshine two Christmas confectionery lines saw considerable increases in the Top 10.
Highlights were:
Lindt’s Teddy Bear, 10g, jumped three places to No 3.
Albert Premier Chocolate Gold Coins In Nets, 75g, moved up one to No 6.
Premier Decorations Acrylic Wine Glass Tree Decoration in Silver was the highest re-entry of the week, back in at No 13.
The highest climber was Konstsmide Water Filled Dickensia Lantern, which moved up 26 places to No 17.
