Sale of Chard Garden Centre in Somerset

Alexander Mackie Associates has announced the sale of Chard Garden Centre located in Cuttifords Door, Chard, Somerset. TA20 3AA. The company handled the sale on behalf of clients, Neil and Carol Cline.

The new owners Carl McDermott and Gill Vigus have issued the following statement:

"Chard Plant & Garden Centre: A New Chapter Begins

"Chard Plant & Garden Centre are happy to announce the transition from Chard Garden Centre to Chard Plant & Garden Centre, a name that reflects our ongoing commitment to quality plants, expert gardening advice, and exceptional service.

"As a proudly independent garden centre, we want to honour the incredible legacy built by Neil and Carol Cline, who, alongside their dedicated team, have created a much-loved destination for gardeners and visitors alike. Their passion, expertise, and hard work have made a lasting impact, and we are proud to build upon everything they have achieved: made possible with the support of Alexander Mackie Associates, who facilitated the process and helped ensure a smooth handover.

"Part of that legacy is The Potting Shed Café, a welcoming haven renowned for its friendly atmosphere and delicious offerings. The café’s wonderful team, affectionately known as The Pink Ladies, have built an outstanding reputation for warm hospitality, and we are excited to see this cherished part of the garden centre continue to flourish.

"While our name may be evolving, the heart of what makes this place special remains the same. As an independent business, we remain dedicated to offering expert advice, high-quality plants, and a personal touch you won’t find elsewhere.

"Thank you for your continued support, we look forward to growing together at Chard Plant & Garden Centre."
