British Garden Centres marks five years of the Family Card with a major group-wide upgrade

British Garden Centres is celebrating the 5th anniversary of its Family Card by rolling out a major update across all 80 of its garden centres. The milestone is being marked with a new array of customer perks, digital upgrades, and a celebratory launch weekend to drive loyalty and engagement across the group.

Celebrating five years with new customer perks: To thank shoppers for five years of support, the UK’s largest family-owned garden centre group is kicking off the celebrations with an anniversary weekend on 12th–13th September, offering members an exclusive 10% off everything in-store.

The upgraded loyalty scheme introduces a strong package of everyday value for members, including a welcome hot drink upon registration, a birthday treat of a hot drink and cake, weekly exclusive member deals, weekday morning restaurant discounts, and a monthly 'Swipe & Win' prize draw where customers can be entered into a monthly draw to win a full refund for their entire month's shopping.

Streamlining in-store operations and digital stamps:  Behind the scenes, the relaunch brings important operational updates to modernise the customer journey. Traditional paper stamp cards for hot drinks and meals are transitioning directly onto the Family Card, allowing customers to automatically track rewards via simple till scans while removing paper clutter from the counters.

To ensure a smooth rollout for both shoppers and till teams, British Garden Centres has distributed new registration tablets across its portfolio, ensuring every store has dedicated hardware to sign customers up in seconds.

Anna Worboyes, Loyalty Manager at British Garden Centres, said: “Reaching five years of the Family Card is a fantastic milestone for us, and it’s all thanks to the strong connections our teams have built with local communities across our 80 locations. By upgrading what the card offers, from monthly shop refunds to digital stamp collection and supporting our store teams with new till-side tablets, we are making it easier than ever for customers to get rewarded while helping our centres drive long-term loyalty.”
