The Blue Diamond Group should acquire its 16th garden centre within the next month, chief executive Alan Roper has told GTN Xtra.
“We are mid-way through the legal process and hope to complete by 31 October,” he said.
The target is believed to be a prominent destination centre.
The acquisition would take group turnover to £80 million next year.
Observers believe the final quarter of 2014 could see a number of garden centres changing hands as values hold up following the favourable trading summer.
One source reports that Wyevale may be currently sizing up six potential acquisitions, which would take their tally to 147 outlets. Wyevale do not comment on rumours while deals are being negotiated.
Wyevale reported last week that they had acquired Moreton Park from Shopshire Leisure Group.
Speculation is mounting that Dobbies, who have 35 stores and turnover of £138 million (2012/13), may announce new stores shortly.
