Cast stone garden features maker Haddonstone has been commended for its ongoing commitment to and support for the National Garden Scheme.

Based in Northamptonshire, Haddonstone has committed to opening its gardens as part of the National Garden Scheme for the past 10 years, raising more than £12,000 to-date.

Last week, Geoff Sage, the NGS’s assistant county organiser for the county visited the Haddonstone show gardens to present Will Haxby, director of marketing and ornamental sales, and Andy Miller, head gardener, with a commemorative certificate and trowel.

 “The National Garden Scheme is an exceptional organisation that is dedicated to supporting nursing and health charities across the UK,” Mr Haxby said. “We look forward to supporting the National Garden Scheme for many more years to come.”

Geoff Sage thanked Haddonstone for its continued support.

The NGS gives visitors unique access to more than 3,500 exceptional private gardens in England and Wales, and raises impressive amounts of money for nursing and health charities through admissions, teas and cake sales.

Founded in 1927 to support district nurses, the NGS is now the most significant charitable funder of nursing in the UK and its beneficiaries include Macmillan Cancer Support, Marie Curie, Hospice UK and The Queen’s Nursing Institute.  Thanks to the generosity of garden owners, volunteers and visitors, £58 million has been donated to nursing and health charities.
