Garden centre group reaches final of business award

The team at a Bradford-based garden centre group is celebrating after reaching the final of TheBusinessDesk.com Yorkshire Business of the Year Awards 2026.

Yorkshire Garden Centres – owner of Tong, Tingley, Bingley, Otley and Pennine Garden Centres, plus Dean’s York and Scarborough – has been shortlisted in the Large Business of the Year category of the annual awards, which celebrate the best business successes from across the region.

Yorkshire Garden Centres’ MD, Mark Farnsworth, said: “We’re proud to have reached the final of this prestigious award which recognises the Yorkshire businesses that are innovating, disrupting and thriving. We’re delighted that the judges were impressed by what they saw and heard when they visited in October, and we’re looking forward to pitching our finalist presentation in January.”

A spokesperson for TheBusinessDesk.com said: “The Large Business award will go to one of the region’s strong success stories that is really setting the pace. The winning business will have outstanding financials but will also have a great story to tell and be making a significant impact in the region.”

Yorkshire Garden Centres faces competition from Adler & Allan, FMG, Keepmoat, NG Bailey
Polypipe Building Products and Zenith.

The team will learn whether they have been successful at an awards ceremony and gala dinner, which takes place on February 19th at New Dock Hall, Leeds.
