Collective imagination champion to speak at 2025 GCA conference

Author of ‘From What Is to What If’ and collective imagination champion Rob Hopkins is to speak at the Garden Centre Association annual conference in Reading this January (January 26 until 29, 2025).

Rob, who is the co-founder of Transition Network and Transition Town Totnes and author of several books including ‘The Transition Handbook’ will be presenting to GCA members on Monday, January 27.

Will Blake, GCA Chairman, explains: “Rob Hopkins is the author of numerous books; most recently, ‘From What Is to What If: unleashing the power of imagination to create the future we want.’ We’re delighted he’s able to join us for our conference on the Monday and are really looking forward to hearing what he has to say. His presentation promises to be very interesting for delegates and we’re sure it will inspire some very interesting conversations afterwards.

“Rob is an Ashoka Fellow, has spoken at TED Global and at several TEDx events, and appeared in the French film phenomenon ‘Demain’. He holds a PhD from the University of Plymouth, as well as two Honoris Causas and is a Director of Totnes Community Development Society.

“He hosted the podcast ‘From What If to What Next’, runs ‘Imagination Catalyst’ training for a wide range of organisations, and has collaborated with musician Mr Kit on a project called ‘Field Recordings from the Future’, due out in 2025. In November 2022, he was made an Honorary Citizen of Liège in Belgium by the city’s mayor.”

Rob Hopkins will be presenting to delegates at the GCA conference on Monday, January 27. Conference places can be booked via Garden Centre Association Tickets, Bundles - Buy Online.
