Blue Diamond acquires 42-acre warehouse site

Blue Diamond Garden Centres has acquired a 42-acre warehouse site at Pollington, East Yorkshire, more than doubling its existing warehousing capacity.

The former RAF Snaith site, located just off the M62, comprises three warehouses. The freehold acquisition and purchase of Ames’ remaining UK stock follow the company’s departure from the UK market.  The strategically located site provides Blue Diamond with significant additional space and a strong distribution base to support its expanding network of garden centres across the UK and Channel Islands.

Alan Roper, Chief Executive of Blue Diamond Garden Centres, said: “This is a significant acquisition for Blue Diamond. The Pollington site doubles our existing warehouse capacity in an excellent location, with strong access to our growing network of garden centres.  It provides us scale and flexibility to support the business today, while creating an important platform for our continued growth in the years ahead.”

Blue Diamond Garden Centres is the UK’s largest garden centre group by turnover, with annual sales of more than £400 million. The Group operates 55 centres across the UK and Channel Islands and continues to invest in its garden centre estate, product ranges and infrastructure as it expands its national presence.
