Don't wait for spring to promote slug controls

Warmer winter weather has created the perfect breeding conditions for slugs, warn BASF, the German chemical company who market the slug control Nemaslug. They advise retailers not to wait until spring to promote them...

 

Nemaslug offers a biological solution to pest control on vegetables, fruit, flowers, shrubs and trees, even in winter at temperatures above 5C. Users mix the nematodes with water and apply from a watering can with a coarse rose. The product is harmless to children and pets. 

 

If control is left until spring, which is when pest control typically begins, foliar damage could be severe enough to cause significant plant loss on a vast number of susceptible crops.

 

BASF has the largest specialist nematode growing facility in the EU – and the only one in Britain - growing trillions of beneficial nematodes for use in their Nemasys range of pest controls.
