As the country wrapped up against the snow and freezing conditions over the weekend of Garden Re-Leaf and Mother's Day, garden centres throughout the land were encouraged by an increase in buying activity in their stores.
Thetford puts the emphasis on fun for Garden Re-Leaf Day
Thetford Garden Centre in Norfolk ran a series of successful events for Garden Re-Leaf with the emphasis being firmly placed on having some fun.
Events included a raffle, winning plot, guess the number of sweets and a Garden Re-Leaf Quiz.
The centre also had a Flower Magic Workshop, run in association with Scotts, inviting Thetford primary schoolchildren to try their hand at seed planting.
Ninety green and white balloons on sticks were handed out to children and there was also a trolley of plants sold with the proceeds going to the Greenfingers charity.
